Metkei Girls’ High School is one of Kenya’s Extra County Schools located in Rift Valley Province, along Eldoret-Eldama Ravine Road. It borders flourspar Mining to the East. The school was founded in 1987 as Metkei Secondary School but later changed to a girl’s school and renamed: Metkei Girl’s High School through the authority from the Education Ministry.
By the late 1990s, the school had grown to have numerous rugby pitches, basketball courts, football pitches, hockey and cricket fields. The school also had well equipped learning resources. It had fully furbished classrooms, computer labs and science laboratories. Unique was the weather station where geography students took practical lessons. To keep up with it’s fast pace of growth, a large contingent of residential subordinate staff was employed.

Metkei Girls High School is a great place to teach and learn! Our teachers are committed to a high quality learning experience focused on the individual needs of each Student. We are striving to be creative and innovative in our instruction to engage students in their learning through a variety of STEAM activities, applications of technology, and 21st Century skills.
The School is located in Elgeyo Marakwet County, Kamwosor Shopping Centre approximately 68 km along Eldoret Eldama Ravine road, with 960 students from all over Kenya. Our school has a long standing tradition of excellence in academics and extra
curriculum activities. As a school, we are committed to our mission of providing quality education that promotes learning, cultivates independent thought, and building of students’ character.”
Our guiding values are imbedded in the school motto “TULENGE JUU”. We endeavor to aim higher in providing a wholesome Education i.e. Spiritually, Morally, Academically and socially so that our students can compete globally.
Our primary goal at Metkei Girls High School is to help all students achieve their dreams and find success in pursuing life goals. We are unconditionally committed to providing the best possible educational program to our students. We believe that there are numerous opportunities, both within our curricula and through extracurricular activities, for our students to gain the skills that will allow them to be successful in their lives after high school.
